On August 2, 2025, the promotional event for the Better Design Award (BDA) was successfully held in Barcelona, Spain. The event attracted nearly a hundred participants, including university faculty and students in the field of design, creative professionals, and industry media.

As a global hub of design and innovation, Barcelona offers a rich cultural heritage in design and a thriving creative industry ecosystem, providing fertile ground for the event. The city has not only witnessed the legendary works of masters like Antoni Gaudí, but also continues to foster cutting-edge creativity that leads global trends, serving as a vital nexus for international design collaboration.

The event featured a special guest appearance by Japanese architect and world-renowned Gaudí scholar Hiroya Tanaka, who served as the keynote speaker. He provided an in-depth explanation of the competition format, schedule, and award categories, emphasizing the BDA’s mission to inspire innovative thinking and drive the integration of design and industry. He also called on the global design community to actively participate and collaboratively explore how design can empower industrial transformation and enhance quality of life.
