Better Design Award Design Innovation Talent Training Successfully Held in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province, China

In response to the "Industrial Design Empowerment Guangdong Action Plan (2022-2025)" and the requirements of the Special Action for Industrial Design Empowerment in Eastern, Western, and Northern Guangdong, and to promote the transformation of design achievements and the gathering of outstanding talents in Guangdong, the Design Innovation Talent Training event of the Better Design Award was successfully held in Chaozhou on December 4th.

This event attracted over 100 representatives, including outstanding project teams from the competition, industry experts, upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, industry associations, and social organizations. Zhang Jun, Director of the Industrial Park Department of the Industry and Information Technology Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and Gao Tao, Shenzhen-Chaozhou Support Cooperation Command Department-level Officer and Deputy Director of the Chaozhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, attended the meeting.

The event organized design talents and design agencies from the Better Design Award (BDA) participants to delve into Chaozhou. Through various forms such as design achievements promotion, design service consultation, talent training, on-site research, and exhibition of works, professional design service consultation and capability training were provided to local industry talents. The goal was to promote the transformation of the competition’s design outcomes, empower the high-quality development of Guangdong through design, and accelerate the "High-Quality Development Project for 100 Counties, 1,000 Towns, and 10,000 Villages".

At the event, Gao Tao, Shenzhen-Chaozhou Support Cooperation Command Department-level Officer and Deputy Director of the Chaozhou Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, delivered a speech. He elaborated on the key role of design innovation in driving industrial upgrading and expressed warm congratulations and great expectations for the smooth progress of the event.

Design Consulting, Peng Dongyu, Partner of Suosi (Shenzhen) Design Office, Zhou Baitai, General Manager of Nanfeng Industrial Design, He Meijie, Partner of ORACLE Creative Design, and Luo Qiujie, Head of Domestic and International Markets for Innozen Industrial Design, conducted in-depth discussions on design concepts, methods, and case studies. They provided design service consultation to Chaozhou enterprises and offered professional guidance for the problems raised by the enterprises.

The event also featured a special interactive exhibition area for BDA award-winning works, showcasing outstanding designs and design-driven brands from the Better Design Award. These products feature innovative designs and unique creativity, demonstrating the exceptional ideas of the participants, offering attendees a dual feast of visual and creative experiences.

After the training, the attending representatives will conduct on-site research at Chaozhou enterprises, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the companies' design needs and the development trends of Chaozhou's industries. They will provide professional advice and guidance to industry talents, jointly exploring new pathways for design-driven industrial empowerment.
